The Founder

Cricket wasn't learned.
It was lived.

Our founder was born into a sporting family. His father served as Director of the National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala — under the Sports Authority of India, and Asia's largest sports institute. He grew up inside that world, surrounded by elite athletes and genuine high-performance training every single day.

Having learnt from the best in almost every sport, he brings a bundle of experience and the mindset required to perform at the highest level. His sporting grounding runs deep: he learnt and trained alongside many of the world's top and elite athletes at NIS — including legends of the game such as Bishen Singh Bedi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, DP Azad (Kapil Dev's Coach), and elite cricketers from the modern era. He also trained his fitness under some of Asia's finest conditioning and fitness coaches at the institute. He was selected into a Ranji Trophy camp and fast-bowling camps for multiple states. It was ultimately a shoulder injury that brought his bowling career to an end — a setback that redirected his focus, but never his love for the game.

"I didn't choose cricket. I was raised inside it — now I get to pass that on."

His relationship with the game was always a little bigger than the boundary rope. As a child, he was invited by the BBC to London for an interview — a rare recognition that reflected just how unusual his sporting upbringing was.

After moving to Australia, he continued training at St George Cricket Club and Bankstown Cricket Club — Bankstown being one of the country's most respected cricketing regions — before turning a lifetime of experience toward coaching. Today, as a Cricket Australia Accredited Community Coach, he brings those same standards, discipline and care to young cricketers across Melbourne's Hume region.

Our Philosophy

What drives every session

To become the most trusted name in junior cricket development across Melbourne's north — a place where every young cricketer, regardless of background or starting ability, has access to genuinely elite coaching and the chance to fall in love with the game.

To deliver structured, high-performance coaching that builds technical skill, physical confidence, and mental resilience in equal measure — turning weekly sessions into real, lasting development on and off the field.

Small groups. Real feedback. Patient repetition. Every player is coached as an individual first and a cricketer second — because confidence and character are what make the technique stick.

"Talent gets you noticed. Hard work, the right mindset, and self-belief get you to the top — and keep you there."

Why Apex

A coaching standard built on real experience

Every part of our coaching is designed around one idea — development that's genuine, structured, and built to last.

Professional Coaching

Structured sessions built on real competitive playing experience — never generic, one-size-fits-all drills.

Technical Skill Development

Foundational technique broken down and rebuilt the right way, at the right pace, at every stage.

Batting Coaching

Stance, shot selection and game-aware batting developed with patience, repetition and precision.

Bowling Coaching

Pace, control and variation coached with proper biomechanics, rhythm and competitive intent.

Fielding Excellence

Sharp hands, quick feet and the disciplined fielding habits that elite teams are built on.

Match Awareness

Reading the game — field placements, match situations and sharp decision-making under pressure.

Confidence Building

Every player coached to back themselves — building self-belief that carries on and off the field.

Fitness & Athletic Development

Age-appropriate strength, speed and conditioning built for the demands of the modern game.

Small Groups, Individual Attention

Low player-to-coach ratios so every cricketer is genuinely seen, coached and developed.

Beyond the Boundary

We don't just build cricketers.
We build young leaders.

Great players are made as much between the ears as in the nets. Alongside technical coaching, Apex runs dedicated development programs — and the founder delivers presentations on building a growth mindset — that help young athletes grow in confidence, character and leadership.

Code of Conduct

Apex Cricket Academy

At Apex Cricket Academy, we believe cricket is about more than just learning skills — it is about building confidence, friendships, positive habits, and unforgettable memories. We want every child to enjoy their cricket journey while developing their skills, fitness, teamwork, discipline, and overall physical well-being in a safe and encouraging environment.

We understand that children, especially at younger ages, are still learning and growing. There may be moments where they get overly excited, lose focus, or test boundaries — this is a natural part of their development. Our coaches are here to guide them with patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement while helping them learn respect, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.

We value the support and partnership of our parents. If you ever have a question, concern, or would like to discuss your child's progress, we kindly ask that you speak directly with us either by calling the academy or having a chat with us before or after the session. To ensure every child receives the best possible coaching experience, we kindly request that parents allow coaches to focus fully on the players during training sessions and avoid interruptions while sessions are in progress.

At Apex Cricket Academy, we are committed to creating a welcoming cricket family where every child feels supported, encouraged, and excited to learn. Together with parents, we hope to create an environment where children can grow, make friends, build wonderful memories, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
